Pinterest Addicts

See I knew I wasn’t the only one addicted to Pinterest. It’s nice to see my timeline being filled with fellow pinterest obsessed friends. Pinterest has made it onto our local news a few months ago when I was discovering Pinterest. What i love about it is that it helps me out with ideas for household things, doing things with my children, party ideas, fashion, and my favorite meal planning. So, I’m in this massive hunt for recipes old & new and love copycat kinds too : ) But lets just say, I’m on a mission and I love it. I’m finding some ideas on what to make for my daughters birthday coming up being this is the first year that she’s in school and will make friends of her own and she can finally invite her friends to her birthday parties and not just her cousins : ) haha. Plus, the day of her birthday falls on a tuesday this year so I’ll also have maybe treats for her classroom if her teacher says it’s okay. I’m kind of envious of my friend Madge. Every year she brings cupcakes for her daughters birthdays to their classrooms. It’s kind of nice : ) So now it’s my turn. Thank God. But my biggest fear is what if their allergic? Oh boy.

Anyways, so while I’m on a hunt between recipes and pinterest I’ve found people that bought domain names (and free ones too) such as My Pinterest Reality,  Our Pinteresting Family, Thnx Pinterest, etc.

I don’t feel alone. I really don’t. So go pinterest it out people!

Pertussis, Get Vaccinated

June 2, 2012 | (0)LOVE

Aloha folks.

So, I’m here for a different kind of post. As a mother, I’ve had sleepless nights, every 2 hour feedings, lots and lots of diaper changes c’mon I’ve been changing diapers for the past 4 years – but as a mother you NEVER worry about what you SHOULD worry about. Have you every heard about Pertussis also known as Whooping Cough? I’m spreading the word because my husbands grandma, my daughter, and my son has a horrible cough and it sounds like an ordinary cough but at the same time I can’t help but worry if it’s something else. For as long as I can remember I’ve been a total worry wart and I’m guessing at some point it’ll pay off. These are one of them times, as I’m chatting with my friend Katie she tells me to be careful with the Whooping Cough in young children. My son is only 17 months and according to the video below your child isn’t fully vaccinated until they’re 18 months or so. Tell me, WHY I SHOULDN’T worry? I called my childrens pediatrician and I’m taking them tomorrow AM to get tested for whooping cough and I’m gonna get them, my husband and myself vaccinated.

Important information: Good to Know.
“What may seem like the start of a common cold could be the serious symptoms of whooping cough. At the start, typical symptoms of pertussis include runny nose or congestion, sneezing, and possibly mild cough or fever. But, after 1-2 weeks of these symptoms, severe coughing can begin and continue for weeks. Pertussis can cause violent and rapid coughing, which tends to produce a “whooping” sound between coughs, although this sound can be absent or minimal in infants.”

“Adults are susceptible to pertussis, because the vaccine you received as a child wanes over time, after 5-10 years. That’s why the CDC recommends that adults and adolescents, especially those in close contact with an infant, receive a single dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis) vaccine.”

– Sounds of Pertussis.

So, MIRENA update: I did have it removed alittle after a week of implanting. I’m now on the birth control pills It’s called Camila. Nothings changed except blood flow. OMG. I never bled so much since I’ve been a teenager. I’m now in my late 20′s. HELLO?!?!?

Ok. that’s all for now.

Review: Mirena

April 20, 2012 | (0)LOVE

Do you want my strong opinion? Wait, what’s Mirena? Well, this is a form of birth control used by woman whom have had a baby and does not want to extend her family for 5 years, more or less. I’ve had this experience twice. After my first pregnancy with my daughter at my 6 week follow up I got my first experience with implantation. Now, totally be honest, the implanting WAS painful but not as bad as the 2nd experience I had. I’ve been crouching up all night and day. I’ve been able to do some things but standing and walking for a long time just isn’t happening!

1st Experience: (October 2007)

PRO: I liked not being able to worry about birth control for 5 years. I like not having a period. Yeah, I had spotting here and there but not a biggie if you ask me. Implanting wasn’t as bad. It did hurt because it’s something foreign going into your body that your body is not use to. But, overall, it was okay.

CONS: I did have problems with my lower back. I was convince that it wasn’t so I kept it in longer. After 1 year of constant back spasms I was worried. I even went to my OB and the same DR that inserted my first one removed it and inserted a 2nd just to be sure. I was still having the back spasms.  You know what she said I had – CONSTIPATION? C’mon i’m not that idiotic I know my body. Besides, when you’re pregnant you FIND out the REAL meaning of constipation. LOL. Once she removed it – BAM no more pain. PROVEN POINT.

2nd Experience: (April 2012)

PROS: I still like the fact that I have 5 years to decide if I want to have more kids. RIght now, I have a lot that I want to do before having more children. I’m having really strong baby fever so that is more than anything a strong thing to get me pregnant again. No thanks not right now anyway. Well, I also like not having a period all the time.

CONS: I’m having a new set of symptoms. I did get it placed on Monday at 4pm and by 6pm I’m in the ER because I got cramping left & right from hell & back. I was in so much pain I couldn’t bare it anymore. Today is thursday, and i’m STILL in pain. But my OB convinced me that my insurance paid $2300 for me to remove it and waste money? So, i’m baring a few more weeks until my 4 week follow up and see what happens.

Do I personally like Mirena? I do. It’s just all this pain I’m going thru right now isn’t a stroll in the park!

Personal Yearbook

March 4, 2012 | (0)LOVE

So, I’ve been pinteresting again. And, lets just say I’ve stumbled on a few neat ideas. With Tatyana going to kindergarten come fall I’m really excited to start this new journey with her. And, therefore while I’m in the process of doing so and walking alongside her in this beautiful “new” world she’s entering I want to make this as memorable as possible. So, I stumbled on Becky Higgins. She’s awesome let me remind you. That .com is where I’m finding a lot of neat stuff. Check out the website.

Source.

Anyways, isn’t this neat. It’s something I’d like to start for her being that this is her 1st year of school, period. This’ll be interesting. She can draw as we go sort to thing.

Puppy Canopy

February 29, 2012 | (0)LOVE

How cruise is that? lol. So, I’ve been meaning to work on this website. I got a little more done today. I updated the did you know section. I tell you, it’s so funny how there are SO Many things out there that you thought you could’ve figured out yourself but in the real deal time – negative. Someone else posted it not you. LOL.

Saw this cute doggy sleeping on a canopy. I’ve been cleaning out my house. Now, when I say cleaning out – We moved to Kauai nearly 5 years ago and let me tell you. Our garage was filled with boxes from floor to ceiling. It look like a hoarder lived here. It was just uneasy for us to just pick up and throw things away. I mean, it’s been our lives for the past 4 years together. So, when I went thru the boxes I found our memories and lets just say it was nice to go thru them. Once upon a time, we had our own house. And now, we still have our own place but it’s shared with my husbands grandma. So, I went thru our garage, threw a bunch of things away which a lot more needs to be thrown away. I moved some things to make room. Our CAR couldn’t fit in the garage before and now it’s a bit snug but it fits! lol. I have a queen size bed that needs to be thrown away. Ugh, I have just a lot of things. Our garage was once a “sitting” area that we could enjoy laughs, talks, and memories. Now, it’s just filled with boxed up memories of Jon & I.

haha. Anyways, back to the picture of the dog. I threw away the house of my dog. LOL. ONly because it was filthy. But, he’s now sleeping on the porch where he once was. Which is nice. But, he misses his house and I thought about making this canopy for him =) Looks simple. LOL.

Thanks to Pinterest I’ve found the energy to clean my house. PLUS, all the nervous energy and stress I’ve been going thru. Ugh. Anyways, talk about laters. Toodles.

Pintrest is a great place to experience many different things. I’ve been able to get inspired to WORK on a few things around my house. Like, PROJECT garage, PROJECT bathroom, PROJECT kiddies. Things I can do with my daughter, things I can have ready for my son, etc. Anyways, I’ve been inspired by this.

Get inspired to do somethin with your child. Especially when you’ve got more than one child. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old so you can almost tell me that the 4 year old one has her moments of jealous and these are one of the times I’d like to spend with her just MOMMY&DAUGHTER time. My son gets a lot of attention and I know it bothers her. You can’t tell me its easy to just split the time apart. It’s hard when your toddler is just ALL over the place.

Besides, just think about it… this’ll be super interesting to look back into time and see what progress and what interesting your child may change and what they’d say. I know I filled out mines with MY daughter today. She wants to be a “teacher”, her favorite movies “tangled, lion king, and toy story”, her favorite color is “white” because her SHIRT was white today. It’s really neat. And, I really enjoyed this.
